**About OCISO**

OCISO is a settlement organization that supports immigrants through the journey of making Canada their home by providing creative and responsive programs that are culturally and linguistically appropriate, by building community through mutual respect and partnerships, and by fostering healthy and inclusive spaces for open dialogue and healing. OCISO is the host agency for Refugee 613, providing legal, finance and administrative services and oversight.

**About Refugee 613**

**Position Summary**

Reporting to the Director of Refugee 613 and working as part of a two-person team with the Community Outreach Coordinator, the Project Coordinator (Local Outreach) will both implement and support a range of stakeholder convening, research and resource-development activities to improve the ability of local organizations to welcome displaced persons from Ukraine and other refugee populations. Strong French language skills are required for this position, to support Refugee 613’s work with Francophone community organizations.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Embed equity and inclusion principles in all activities
- Support the Community Outreach Coordinator in the development, implementation and monitoring of Refugee 613’s local outreach strategy and project plan, to maximize Ottawa’s capacity to mobilize and support displaced Ukrainians and other refugee groups
- Lead Refugee 613 outreach with Francophone communities and service providers, to connect them to collaborative tables, services and settlement information
- Support the convening, logistics and follow-up for the Ottawa Ukraine Working Group and other task forces, with activities including but not limited to: identify meeting themes, arrange for relevant speakers, prepare meeting agendas and materials, note-taking, communicating meeting outcomes, providing follow-ups to action items, questions, requests, etc.
- Lead project communications activities, in particular the production of newsletters, fact sheets, infographics, etc based on needs identified by community partners
- Represent Refugee 613 at local stakeholder tables as needed
- Support Refugee 613 engagement in community research initiatives related to refugee welcome and integration
- Support local event planning activities, such as info sessions for service providers
- Demonstrate a commitment to OCISO’s culture of respect approach
- Other task and duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary or graduate degree in communications, journalism, or social services or related field, or equivalent professional experience in related field
- At least one year of experience in stakeholder management and/or community outreach, preferably in the non-profit sector and/or related to newcomers to Canada
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in French and English (mandatory)
- Experience creating successful stakeholder meetings and initiatives
- Excellent communications skills
- Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and lived experience
- Demonstrated experience with project management best practices
- Highly organized and detail-oriented. Strong work ethic and ability to multitask and work independently
- Proficient with the full MS Office Suite, Google Docs, project management software and databases.

**Desirable**
- Ability to thrive working in an open-space environment, remotely, or a hybrid model.

**NOTE: This position is based in Ottawa, Ontario, with a possibility of remote work within Ottawa only.**

**Salary & Benefits**: $58, 877 - $60,606 annually. Comprehensive benefits plan including health, dental, RRSP plan, and generous leave entitlement.
