The** Capacity & Planning Manager **leads the establishment, review, and maintenance of the Sales & Operation Plan as well as all Master Schedules for the organization.
**In this role you will**:
- Lead the establishment, review, and maintenance of Sales & Operations Plan translating demand and supply requirements, taking into account capacity and various constraints, and communicate the plan to functional areas for materials, labour and equipment planning.
- Convert the Sales & Operation Plan into a Master Production and Engineering Schedules, involving all relevant staff members to it ensures that load and capacity are matched, thereby limiting both the risk of stock shortages and the pitfalls of overproduction.
- Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to ensure commitment and engagement to deliver on the Sales & Operations Plan and Master Schedules.
- Create interactive decision support models that demonstrate the sensitivity of outcome to multiple independent variables, especially related to the Master Production Schedule, resource (material and people) requirements, and the Master Engineering Schedule.
- Identify resource constraints and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure they are well understood and mitigated.
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the organization, enforcing health and safety regulations and requirements as required.
- Lead, mentor, coach, and guide team members, enabling them to develop and grow.
- Support and champion continuous improvement initiatives including identifying opportunities for cost savings and waste reduction.
**You have**:
- Post-secondary education in operations management, supply chain, industrial engineering, business-related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference on aerospace, defense, and/or composites.
- Experience in at least two of the following: production planning, master production scheduling, product definition, inventory control, materials requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, shop floor control, warehousing, transportation, and purchasing business functions.
- Demonstrated ability to scrutinize and breakdown facts and thoughts into opportunities and threats to achieving business goals
- Ability to map processes of possible consequences of decisions, to work out the importance of individual factors, and to choose the best course of action.
- Advanced technical ability (ERP, Excel, Power BI).
- Superior communication skills, particularly visual presentation techniques including charting, histograms, and flow sheets, and oral and written presentation techniques as well as skill in helping stakeholders reach agreements.
- High level of business and operational acumen as well as substantial product, plant, process, and market knowledge which impacts customer service, and material and capacity planning.
