**We are currently seeking one full-time contract Support Assistant to join our Crisis team as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program**

This role is a part of the Canada Summer Jobs initiative to support youth in obtaining quality temporary work experiences. As a Support Assistant, you will report to the Program Manager, Crisis Services and assist with administrative functions, supporting our busy 24/hour Crisis team.

**Status**:8 week contract (anticipated contract dates will fall between June 10, 2024 and August 30, 2024); 30 hours a week in a hybrid working model

**Hourly Rate**:$17.55

**Location**:This position is based out of our 60 West Drive, Brampton office. Although we operate within a hybrid workplace model, staff are required to have on-site and/or community presence as per program and client needs.

**What You Will Do**:

- Assemble client and family welcome packages.
- Provide on-going clerical support to the Crisis Team including entering and updating the Client Database (CRMS) system.
- Enter and update client surveys in the CAMH OPOC database including contact entries in our electronic health record system (CRMS).
- Work collaboratively with the Direct Services to package OPOC materials for clients.
- Provide administrative support such as answering phone calls, faxing, mailing, photo-copying, and scanning

**What You Need to Join Our Team**:
Participants of Canada Summer Job roles **must** meet the following requirements:

- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- Must be able to work all 8 weeks consecutively

**Additional Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in or a graduate of a post-secondary program in Health Care or Social Services
- Previous administrative experience, as well as experience working with client/patient related or driven databases would be an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to approach, listen, build trust, and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality. Willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence.
- Openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and intersectional framework
- Fluency in a second language, including ASL (American Sign Language) is considered an asset.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment and to prioritize tasks in a manner that meets staff needs and program objectives
- Proof of administered full-series Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccination prior to start date. If unable to be vaccinated for reasons relating to protected grounds under the Code, completed medical or religious exemption must be provided.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report
