**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the manager or designate, the clinical social work leader provides professional leadership to social workers in Child Youth and Family Health. The Clinical Social Work Leader informs standards and evidence-based practice through clinical supervision to optimize child and family health. The Clinical Social Work Leader will maintain a therapeutic caseload and facilitate community engagement, in addition to the provision of support and supervision for social workers within the Child Youth and Family Health portfolio.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Graduate of an accredited school of Social Work with a Master of Social Work degree. Current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers. Five years of experience in Social Work, with at least three of those years in a relevant paediatric service. Demonstrated experience in clinical supervision and clinical social work service delivery required.

- Demonstrated abilities in clinical supervision.
- Demonstrated skills in the provision of therapy/counseling to children and families.
- Participation in research and evidence based practice reviews and integration.
- Ability to foster professional multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills both with professionals and families.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and goal-setting skills.
- Ability to organize and lead group meetings.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and evaluate employee performance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ongoing standards of practice/quality of care.
- Physical ability to perform the duties required of this position.
