Human Resources Assistant

This role will start immediately. Jewlr is looking for high potential leaders. As an HRA you will promote and maintain positive employee relations for the employees and supervisors within our manufacturing facility. You will also focus within HR area including: benefits and compensation issues, leave of absences, wage and hour issues, as well as assist with recruitment and retention activities.

Products from all two brands are made on-demand in our state-of-the-art workshop located in Toronto, Canada, where we control quality and quickly produce the jewelry our customers love.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Recruitment/New Hire Process
- Scheduling job interviews and assisting with interview process
- Collecting employment and tax information
- Ensuring background and reference checks are completed
- Preparing new employee files
- Completion of compensation and benefit documentation & enrolment process
- New employee orientation
- Serving as a point person for all new employee questions
**Benefits Administration**
- Tracking of vacation and sick time
- Answering payroll questions
- Facilitating resolutions to payroll errors
- Participating in benefits tasks, such as claim resolutions, reconciling benefits statements
**Record Maintenance**
- Maintenance of HR files and database
- Updating and maintaining employee benefits, employment status, and similar records
- Maintaining records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
- Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
- Performing payroll/benefit-related reconciliations
- Performing payroll and benefits audits and recommending any correction action
- Completing termination paperwork and assisting with exit interviews
- Compilation of reports and spreadsheets
- Assist in providing guidance to employees & management on HR policies, practices and programs
- Provide guidance to management to ensure Ontario ESA compliance
- Coordinate training sessions and company-wide volunteer initiatives as required
- Participate in the Health and Safety Committee and provide administrative support to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
**Skills**:
- Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues for resolution
- Strong interpersonal skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently
**Experience**:
Post-secondary education required
Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
CHRP designation preferred (or working towards a CHRP)
1 -2 years of relevant work experience required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
