**Primary function**:
Reporting to the Pub Manager, the Barney’s Supervisor ensures that Barney’s runs efficiently and profitably under the direction of the Barney’s Pub Manager. They lead, motivate and inspire the Barney’s team to deliver a high standard of customer service. The position includes working primarily evenings, providing hands on support for the Barney’s team and understanding the daily operations of Barney’s.

- Gaming - VLTs
- Promotion & growth
- Security and maintenance
- Trouble-shooting
- Administration and enforcement of A.G.L.C policies and requirements
- Ensure all guests receive a warm & inviting welcome
- Ensures proper ambiance and guest comfort re. temperature, lighting, background music, etc
- Ensures professional food & beverage service standards and responsible alcohol service
- Responds to special or last minute guest requests
- Effectively handles guest complaints
- Assisting with planning & organizing promotions and events
- Cleanliness and sanitation
- Health & Safety Program requirements
- Ensures proper communication within the Lounge & with other Departments
- Responsible for service labor productivity
- Assists with planning & executing Monthly Staff Meetings
- Executes BEO’s and Group Bookings in Barney’s
- Safety and security
- Building and system maintenance
- Energy conservation (lighting, HVAC system)
- Provide assistance to hotel departments as required
- Guest relations - handles guest complaints and special requests
- Safety and security of the beer wall
- Updating beer info on the online portal and Untappd
- Updating beer prices
- Troubleshooting beer wall issues
- Training staff in upselling and explaining the beer wall and the Albertan beer culture

**Work Environment**:

- This is a hands-on, customer facing role, with about 90% focus on daily operations and 10% administrative tasks.
- The successful applicant must be flexible in their working hours to meet the varying demands of the business.
- Assist other departments, as necessary, and maintain good working relationships with hotel team members

**Job Requirements**
- Minimum 2 years previous supervisory experience in Food & Beverage operations
- Strong working knowledge of Micros based system is preferred
- Experience handling guest issues and complaints.
- An understanding of the challenges of a transient workforce and the impact this has on training and retention.
- Experience working a variety of shifts
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- University degree or college diploma in Hotel/Tourism Management considered an asset

- **Approachable; **an empathetic listener who can understand the needs of employees and support and mentor them to reach their goals.
