**_Role Impact:_**

As a key member of the sustainability team, the Sustainability Coordinator will support Cadillac Fairview’s utilities management, billing and financial processes, sustainability reporting platforms and green building certification programs Reporting to the Manager, Sustainability, this role will be responsible for the maintenance and optimization of CF’s centralized utilities invoice management program, investigating & resolving queries or vendor issues, updating databases and tracking issues and ensuring accuracy of utilities data used to measure CF’s progress towards sustainability targets, GHG emissions, utilities budgeting, and capital planning. The Sustainability Coordinator will also support data analysis, trending & optimization of program KPIs and the preparation of presentations to aid in the delivery of insights to stakeholders within the organization.

**_ What you will deliver:_**

The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Maintain a centralized utility invoice management program with $110 million of annual spend through investigating & resolving queries or vendor issues, updating databases and tracking issues, monitoring bill payment, conducting spot checks, investigating anomalies, tracking refunds/late fees, removing account duplications, and escalating technology or vendor issues.
- Coordinate with property operations teams to resolve invoice issues and provide guidance on utilities invoice billing & payment and approval processes.
- Utility account database upkeep and maintenance including addition of new accounts from new developments & management of existing account changes.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s), collect user feedback and identify opportunities to optimize and streamline the invoice management program.
- Liaise directly with internal / external stakeholders to improve program operations. Serve as a central point of contact for dealing with utilities vendors on behalf of CF.
- Lead missing bills process and retrieve invoices from utility and/or 3rd party vendor platforms where required.
- Facilitate change management and program / project adoption through maintenance of internal program website, the development of communication packages, decks & delivery of training to key stakeholders.
- Support communications and data collection, analysis and manual input for other internal programs such as Green at Work, whole building and regulatory reporting (e.g. Ontario EWRB), ENERGY STAR, LEED, and other certifications as required.

**_ What your strengths are:_**
- High attention to detail with proven abilities in data analysis, trending, auditing & statistical analysis
- Knowledge of utility vendors billing generation, collection and payment processes, new account setup & closing, rate structures, metering, discounts / penalties, security deposit procedures
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles, accruals, general ledger (GL) coding, utilities budgets, delegated authorities approvals
- Previous exposure to asset management / financial management for real estate such as property taxation, leasing & tenant chargebacks, banking, audits & regulations (considered an asset)
- Ability to analyze processes and issues for continuous improvement. Ability to take initiative and proactively provide suggestions, solutions and thought leadership to team members
- Quickly build credibility and partner productively with internal stakeholders at all organizational levels and external stakeholders to advance agendas and deliver shared objectives.
- Ability to organize work streams and schedules to prioritize issue resolution
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent organizational, priority and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a team-player with a strong customer service orientation
- Very strong project coordination skills with the ability to multitask within an environment with tight and dynamic deadlines
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress
- High computer literacy with good working knowledge of Gmail, Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint

**_ What you need to succeed:_**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business or Environmental Management
- 2 to 4 years relevant experience in sustainability, finance, and/or utilities management, preferably in real estate / asset management
- Analytical, organizational and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team
