**POSITION OVERVIEW**

Western is hiring for a **Specialty Sales Representative** based either in Vancouver or Nanaimo area as part of our Specialist Sales Division.
- Our Specialty Products include Shop & Btr and Specialty Grades in Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar, Hemlock and Douglas Fir. Primary markets include North America, Oceania, Europe and Asia._

**What You’ll Do**: The Specialty Sales Representative is responsible for developing and executing tactical and strategic initiatives and driving sustainable revenue growth in our Specialty Sales Division. An key part of the role is building deeper relationships with strategic accounts, while continuously looking on how to grow market share. You will execute on strategy for our Specialty Products into Domestic and Export Markets and develop strategies to further penetrate our existing markets while also identifying growth opportunities in adjacent markets.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintaining the highest ethical standards, develops and delivers an integrated sales plan that is aligned with overall sales strategy and WFP growth objectives.
- Execute the annual sales plan by booking quarterly order files with strategic customers, which is a coordinated strategy to include logistics, credit and financial analysis with our sawmills
- Working with our production managers, coordinate market pricing and market demand to manufacture the ideal mix of products to maximize returns
- Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
- Leverage highly desired items to increase demand for WFP’s other core products.
- Regularly maintains the company’s relationships with top accounts to maximize sell-through and channel efficiency and growth.
- Responsible for working in collaboration with Logistics and Operations to execute Sales and marketing strategies and maximize value
- Lead the team of Sales Representatives, coaching for performance and delivery of agreed sales targets.
- Present a Monthly Sales Operating Review for the Specialty Products segment, which includes sales results, market updates, logistic plans and financial results
- Establishes monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals and metrics for the sales teams by identifying targeted products to select customers and holds the sales representatives accountable to deliver on set targets
- Participate in the Monthly Sawmill Operating Reviews and assist their preparation by providing sales and market updates
- Track and manage market pricing and indexes for our mix of Specialty Products
- Manage market demand to ensure a forward order file for each manufacturing unit
- Maintain and build our profile of strategic customers in our targeted markets
- Coordinate with the Logistics Team and Credit Team to provide high-level customer service and maximize returns for the Specialty Products segment
- Assist the Marketing Team and Product Development team to identify new opportunities

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education and Experience**
- Post-secondary degree in wood products, or business administration;
- 8+ years of experience in wood products sales or manufacturing sector;
- Proven leadership ability;
- Sales and/or Manufacturing experience in our Coastal Species and/or Shop;
- Managerial experience in a sales field role preferred.
