We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our organization in a 3 year contract position as Manager, Enterprise Data Management Services. This position will be responsible for developing and introducing an enterprise-wide data management function to the town and establishing the services this function will provide. The focus for the term of this contract will be to implement the function as outlined in the enterprise data management strategy ensuring effective management and governance of enterprise and master data across the entire organization by establishing an effective governance framework to address the safe and efficient sharing of data across the organization, leading initiatives that focus on identifying enterprise data assets, building a data community and assurance of data quality, availability and accessibility. As the manager, you will need a blend of technical and business expertise along with strong communication and collaboration skills.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**:
Enterprise Data Management Function & Services
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to implement the enterprise-wide data management strategy aligned with organizational and business goals.
- Establish the Enterprise Data Management function and services from the ground up, creating policies, procedures and standards to govern data management practices across the organization.
- Design and implement data governance processes and frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the organization. Establish data ownership, accountability, and access control mechanisms.
- Draft the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) functional mandate and workplan (foundational, short, interim and long term deliverables).
- Develop a detailed 1-3 year workplan for the Enterprise Data Management function and services that aligns with the strategic goals of the mandate. Provide ongoing oversight of the overall workplan and adapting when required.
- Establish a cross functional enterprise data committee, including establishing a mandate, defining agendas and meeting frequency. Lead the development and management of the committee, including addressing escalations and sharing relevant case studies.
- Implement processes for Master Data Management inventory management, business architecture and proof of concept initiatives.
- Manage the Enterprise Data Business Architect and Data Analyst.
Implement the data governance hub and spoke model for enterprise data functions and services.
Identify key success factors and performance indicators for enterprise data governance initiatives.

Policies, Standards, and Processes:

- Define and enforce data standards, policies, and guidelines to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Evolve and adapt existing processes in areas of information governance to ensure they are inclusive of effective data governance.
- Coordinate with key information management stakeholders, including records, information management and privacy practices to ensure all aspects of data governance are included.
Develop privacy statements and ensure compliance with legal requirements.Structure:

- Clarify and formalize the EDM function roles and responsibilities with all key stakeholders across the organization. Develop a mutual understanding of roles and responsibilities between ITS, Information Management, Business Departments, and the EDM unit.
Review existing resources, identify required resources to continue the EDM mandate work. Match the organizational structure to long-term mandate deliverables of the EDM function and services.Organizational Change Management, Education and Training
- Lead all aspects of change management, training and education related to the introduction and ongoing activities of this function and services to the organization.
- Develop and deliver data governance learning sessions and participate in stakeholder meetings when requested.
- Educate all stakeholders on data governance policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support for data governance-related initiatives and projects.
