**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Technical Officer on all technical aspects and to the Department Administrator for all administrative aspects, the incumbent is responsible for supervising all persons concerned with providing assistance in teaching, such as teaching assistants, markers, programmers-on-duty, lab instructors and tutors-on-duty (henceforth referred to in general as TA), assisting in workload assignments to TAs, and selecting and hiring invigilators. The incumbent is also responsible for planning and establishing experiments in the labs for some courses, in consultation with the faculty members teaching the courses; and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the labs.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Plan and establish new experiments by streamlining input from faculty and staff members.
- Manage and maintain lab schedules and submit requests for departmental labs and software needs.
- Assign workloads to all TAs, markers and programmers on duty (POD). Issue contracts in FRIS in accordance with TRAC collective agreement.
- Develop, maintain, update department web pages.
- Assigs invigilators for exams and maintain related records in accordance with the collective agreement.
- Develop, maintain and update lab manuals. Communicate the collective agreement rules and policies related to TA contracts and assigning invigilators to the faculty members.
- Coordinate Health and Safety workshops for assigned TAs and ensure safety standards are met and followed in the labs as required.
- Supervise, design and coordinate lab sessions in various courses, including organizing and preparing lab supplies and equipment.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or Computer Engineering with two to four years of pertinent experience related to the primary responsibilities. Working knowledge in the areas of computer systems, networks, software tools and programming.
- Good knowledge (Level 4) of spoken and written English in order to teach undergraduate courses and to write/update manuals, posters and other technical teaching accessories, needed for efficient undergraduate lab procedures; basic knowledge (Level 3) of spoken French.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and team skills.
- Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment.
- Previous instructional or industrial experience is an asset.
