**The Role**

Our mission at Cymax Group is to break down all barriers to make multi-channel commerce easy. The purpose of this role is to lead the day-to-day operations of the Finance team. As the VP, Accounting and Reporting, you will work closely with the Finance and Executive Management teams to ensure the smooth operations of the Finance Team in accordance to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). In addition, you will drive the team in adopting best practices and be responsible for all financial policies and procedures. The VP, Accounting and Reporting will play a key role within the Finance team leading day-to-day operations.

**Who You Are**
- Minimum 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance and accounting, including 3+ years management experience
- Strong experience in full cycle accounting, including tax and audit
- CPA or equivalent designation
- Experience within eCommerce, marketplace or logistics industries an asset
- Self-motivated, ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work collaboratively across the organization where adaptability is key
- Direct formal people management experience, with the ability to lead by example and effectively mentor, motivate and coach a team.
- Experience with finance transformation is a plus

**What You’ll Do**

Financial Reporting:

- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements in accordance to IFRS as well as management reporting packages
- Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including review of reconciliations, working papers and journal entries
- Manage the consolidation of all financials for accurate reporting across all business lines
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting with Cymax’s auditors and tax specialists
- Manage and comply with local, state/provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings across all jurisdictions in which Cymax Group operates

Controls and Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations, including IFRS
- Develop and monitor business performance metrics
- Develop and enforce a system of internal controls over all accounting transactions
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal Controls

People & Technology:

- Manage cohesiveness of all accounting operation teams - including Billing, AR, AP, Tax, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Play a pivotal role in the selection and implementation of our new ERP software to go live in early 2025
- Understand systems and processes to redefine business logic and definitions where necessary
- Payroll is part of the People & Culture function but will work closely with the Finance team
- Supervise a team of accountants and specialists and provide training and professional development support to junior accountants
- Evaluate effectiveness of accounting and other supporting systems to ensure accurate and efficient reporting

Financial Operations:

- Oversight of the team managing the company’s transactional activities like A/R, A/P and expense management
- Cash Flow Monitoring: Tracking and reconciling cash inflows and outflows; monitoring cash burn and runway
- Vendor and Customer Relationship Management: Maintaining positive relationships and addressing inquiries
