The Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of emergency management in the Province, and directing and coordinating the response of all departments to a disaster or major emergency. Reporting to the Manager of Training and Education, the Training Coordinator is responsible for the research, analysis, planning, development, implementation, and coordination of all aspects of the Manitoba emergency management training program delivered by EMO.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid class 5 Manitoba drivers licence.
- Must be able to travel throughout Manitoba.
- Must be able to work extended hours during emergencies and disasters.

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Post-secondary education in emergency management, social sciences, or public administration. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in strategic planning, analysis, program evaluation and/or program development.
- Political acumen and the ability to manage confidential, controversial and politically sensitive
- material and situations in an appropriate manner.
- Experience conducting research, analyzing data, presenting research findings and providing recommendations on cross-departmental matters for various stakeholders.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience making decisions independently that involve a high degree of risk.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write analytical correspondence and reports.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations, and facilitate training to a large audience using a wide range of media equipments/tools.
- Experience developing, coordinating, and delivering training.

Desired:

- Experience updating, monitoring and completing data analytics through a learning management system.
- Experience in emergency management.

**Duties**:
Reporting to the Manager of Education and Training, the Training Coordinator is primarily responsible for the research, analysis, planning, development, implementation and oversight of a comprehensive training program for Manitoba Emergency Management Organization(EMO) staff and their partners. The Coordinator will support the scheduling and facilitation of training courses and programs in an effective and efficient manner either online, through distance education, or in-class instruction. The Coordinator will ensure course content is consistent with existing policy and current doctrine and emerging trends in emergency management.
