- Able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment
- Take safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, anesthesia and radiation
- Completion of Instincts Stockroom Inventory training

**Essential Job Functions**
- Establish inventory control system to assure adequate stocks of supplies are available. Negotiate best prices for all products purchased. As required, make group/bulk purchases, compose bids for negotiated buys.
- Manage supply activities. Supervise maintenance and proper storage of supplies and equipment. Analyze and monitor the turnover rate of supplies and equipment and provide necessary guidance in the requisition to replenish needed requirements.
- Meet with vendors to learn about new products and pricing structure if necessary.
- Oversee and maintain the inventory of food, pharmaceuticals and hospital supplies for all offices
- Develop minimum drug and hospital supply values and reorder points with the practice manager and veterinarians.
- Train staff to properly use the inventory system and monitor it for correct use. Including how to check orders against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure that shipments are accurate upon arrival
- Monitor staff account payable
- Monitor inventory costs and mark-up items according to the standardized industry benchmarks.
- Submit orders online with vendors whenever possible and track purchase orders as needed - in absence of practice manager.
- Oversee the receipt of shipment and unpacking of all inventory orders. Verify that all shipment documents match the shipment order and are received and undamaged. Handle all returns of incorrect or damaged shipments. Ensure that the practice manager receives copies of the purchase orders or packing slips within twenty-four hours of receiving them.
- Distribute inventory items to the appropriate locations throughout the hospital and rotate stock accordingly.
- Monitor inventory and return items before they expire as well as return overstock items. Promptly document any returns and provide the practice manager with any information regarding returns for credit preparation.
- Coordinate the ordering, logging and tracking of controlled substances in the hospital, including maintaining stock in the locked drug drawer.
- Utilize the hospital’s computer software to accurately and timely enter inventory data and coordinate with management any updates that are made to inventory items in regards to prices, markups, etc.
- Oversee special orders for hospital clients by promptly ordering the requested items as well as notifying the department of the item(s) arrival.
- Maintain accurate MSDS sheets and coordinate training and instruction with management and/or the hospital’s OSHA Safety Officer on any pertinent information regarding hazardous chemicals and/or products.
- Conduct physical inventory counts quarterly as dictated by the hospital management and accountant.
- Work well with all team members and ensure that you actions support the hospital, the doctors, and the practice philosophy
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Position Summary**:
As an Inventory Manager, you will oversee food, pharmaceutical and hospital supply inventory for multiple departments. Collaborating with our practice managers and veterinarians, you'll set reorder points and minimum stock values, ensuring a continuous supply of essential items. Your role involves training staff in proper inventory system usage, from checking orders for accuracy to reporting issues to suppliers. You'll place purchase orders, negotiate with vendors, and cultivate positive relationships with them.

You will also be responsible for ordering, cataloguing, repairing and maintaining all hospital equipment.

Additionally, you'll monitor new products, handle returns, and manage equipment maintenance, all while assisting in price matching and shopping for supplies. Your adaptability, ability to work independently, and precise attention to detail will be essential in maintaining a smooth and cost-effective supply chain for the organization.
