Media Planner/buyer

Working under the marketing umbrella, this position will be responsible for identifying the best mix of media channels to deliver effective advertising to the right target audience at the right time. From start to finish - planning, negotiating, buying, optimizing, and evaluating
- this position owns the media strategy and execution for the Brandt Group of Companies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify target audiences and understand their behaviour, habits, and how they consume media
- Collaborate with advertising team, digital team, and other stakeholders to understand market strategy
- Research, analyze data, and develop strategic recommendations using traditional and non-traditional media
- Work within budgets and monitor ongoing budgets to maximize exposure
- Present media recommendations to stakeholders of all levels with associated rationale, costs, and deadlines
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of campaigns, providing both pre-, mid
- and post-campaign reporting as needed
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal clients
- Rigorous vendor assessment and negotiation to obtain best advertising rates
- Maintain awareness of industry developments and media trends
- Participate in brainstorming sessions with internal stakeholders
**Required Skills**:
- Multitasker - manage several projects concurrently with competing deadlines
- Proficiency in estimating, negotiating, buying, and reporting on media intiatives
- Self-starter with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- High attention to detail with a strong drive for results, yet flexible and adaptable to market changes
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Knack for being creative and resourceful to meet challenges
- Tight organizational and time management skills
Required Experience
- Genuine interest in media and advertising
- An understanding of what motivates people to buy a product or service, and the role media channels play in this
- Demonstrated understanding of media planning and buying basics and concepts, gained through formal education or on-the-job experience
- Broad knowledge of media channels
- Familiarity with campaign evaluation metrics
- Desire to work with team members to continually improve results
