Mohawk College is currently recruiting for our next

**International Triage Officer**

Reporting to the Manager of International Student Services, the incumbent is the first point of contact for a diverse clientele which includes international students as well as the general public and student population. Specific in depth triage is provided for International students and referrals to Advisors, Support Officers or International Admissions are given as required. Basic triage services and direction is provided to all students.

They also provide support to International Support Officer, assisting with registration and/or data entry as appropriate.

**Responsibilities**:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

- ** **Triage incoming International students, respond to inquiries and makes appropriate referrals to Advisors, Support Officer, International Admissions, or other and departments in the college.
- Books meeting times for students with International Advisor or Support Officer as appropriate.
- As a first step to the International Advisor and Support Officer, the incumbent responds to a wide range of inquiries regarding college procedures and general information, immigration information and general direction related to the international student experience.
- Responds to and provides basic triage for general inquiries from the public, students, faculty and staff visiting the Square from all areas, directing to kiosks for service as appropriate.

**Reception and Clerical Duties**:

- Completes documentation in compliance with record keeping requirements of the College and external organizations as appropriate. E.g. The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and other government bodies.
- Working with the Co-Ordinator/Manager International Student services and supports with other clerical activity as required.
- Maintains current information regarding College activities and events utilizing the Enterprise portal and College web where appropriate.
- Providing general office support for the International Support Officers reviewing, coordinating and updating information on the International Student Services’ website.

**Other Departmental Support**:

- Supports planning and assists with execution of International Student Services events and activities.

**Information and Communication Functions**:

- ** **Provides information to students, faculty, Admissions, and Recruiting, other college staff, community agencies, and others on the provision of International Student Services.

Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2-year post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in a service-oriented environment within an educational setting; primarily related to supporting international applicants, students and staff. The incumbent will also require experience with immigration policies and procedures, and college services and corporate information systems.
- Experience with current computer software (e.g., MS office) and data management systems, including generating reports, performing data queries, maintaining databases (e.g., spreadsheets) and training with and utilizing new systems as required.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
