Air Canada is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Financial Services Analyst supporting the Cargo Business. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Services, the Financial Services Analyst will work collaboratively with the Operational unit in support of the airline's business objectives and continued drive towards sustained profitability.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure that effective financial and accounting managing processes/systems and controls are developed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with corporate/branch financial and accounting policies and requirements.
- Assist the Manager, Financial Services in support of cargo hub improvement projects, freighter operations, and mainline cargo operations
- Actively participate in the month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing process
- Establish business relationships and support key stakeholders for the Cargo Branch, effectively balancing financial control, advisory and support roles
- Assist clients in all financial aspects of the management control process (i.e. Month-end accruals, invoice validation and processing assistance/Plan/Budget/Measure and Evaluate/Adjust)
- Provide financial support and guidance to business unit managers in the development of strategies and initiatives to meet or exceed the Unit's financial goals, (i.e: revenue enhancement, cost reduction initiatives), and ensure alignment of department, division, and corporate objectives
- Keep track of monthly operating expenses, producing monthly and ad hoc expense reports in order to improve expense and budget management
- Participate and provide support to the analysis of the financial performance of the business unit
- Liaise between various groups within the organization to capture financial requirements on various business cases
- Perform cost and value comparisons using internal and external data to continuously improve the financial performance of the business unit
- Ensure a consistently high level of quality in service provided relative to timeliness, accuracy, and user-friendly output

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree/College Diploma in Commerce, Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of experience
- CPA designation completed/underway is an asset
- Working knowledge of the logistic/transportation industry
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Teams, etc)
- Solid analytical skills and knowledge of financial analysis techniques and accounting cycle
- Ability to work/support multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams within the business
- Ability to excel in an extremely fast-paced environment
- A high degree of initiative and the ability to work in a team environment are essential
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Motivated self starter that can work with mínimal supervision
- Results driven with good organization skills and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written
