**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- Research, gather and analyze data
- Present findings in analytical summaries
- Monitor the mining and exploration industries and interpret trends
- Maintain, update and modify software including statistical databases
- Design data collection formats
- Identify systems needs and provide specifications for systems development
- Present information on the exploration and mining industries

**How do I qualify?**:
**Technical Expertise**:

- You have knowledge of statistical theory and principles, research and analytical methodologies and procedures
- You are familiar with the structure of the mining and exploration industries in Ontario
- You understand the market dynamics of mineral commodities

**Analytical, Research, Problem-Solving and Reasoning Skills**:

- You can carry out analyses of data to identify correlations, variations and trends
- You can identify data and systems needs and recommend data collection options
- You can analyze information and determine how data requirements can be met through data retrieval
- You can use your problem-solving and reasoning skills to perform risk assessments regarding the viability and integrity of the database

**Computer Skills**:

- You can identify systems needs for data collection and data processing
- You can develop and maintain databases

**Communication Skills**:

- You have well developed communication skills to advise, interpret and present information
- You can discuss technical information to both technical and non-technical staff
- You have proven written communication skills and can develop reports of a technical/analytical nature
- You have an ability to encourage cooperation from others to assist with data gathering initiatives
