**Department Overview**
- This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing teams in TD during Canada's national payments modernization
- This role is created to lead a team delivering on an exciting strategy in the payments space. This leader will ensure we deliver on one of the most competitive areas for TD building and launching differentiating client experiences while ensuring we are operating the most stable, secure and predictable customer experiences we are expected to offer.- Reporting to the VP, Enterprise Payments, the AVP, Faster Payments Technology is a leader and SME with technology responsibility for overseeing a team of professionals. The general accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
- Technology Strategy in this context includes definition of improvements to the overall scalability and functionality of the platform, appropriate usage of vendor solutions, modernization/currency approach to the platform, optimizing the team structure and delivery approach.
- Maintains strong relationships with all lines of businesses to understand the future needs of the platform and to aid in the alignment of roadmaps and adoption of capabilities
- Actively works with upstream and downstream technology partners to ensure the end-to-end design and delivery of new capabilities/enhancements are aligned with the future needs of the platform
- Maintains relationships with Interac, Vocalink, Payments Canada, and other relevant Payment participants
- Actively participates in the industry to both maintain strong relationships as well as stay abreast of new developments/opportunities to further develop the platform
- Ultimately on the line for the successful function of Canada's real-time-rail capabilities for customers - ensures clear and timely communication, resolution, and remediation of any issues encountered.
- Ensure strong financial oversight through end-to-end management of technology costs, delivery/project execution cost management, maintenance and run costs during planning, forecasting ensuring Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is determined, reconciling with regularly maintained team capacity plan
- Effectively partners with/leverages QE, ARE, Agile CoE, Delivery, Release Management, ITS and other TS functions

- Technical education / experience

**Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience**:

- Significant previous experience in running technical operations and change on payments, banking or banking infrastructure technologies.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a diverse group of professionals
- Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams
- Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
- Skillful communication (written and verbal), negotiation and partnership skills to balance stakeholder input but remain objective to reach the right outcome - ability to stay resilient under pressure
- Demonstrated relationship building skills, with the ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence
- Expertise in working effectively in teams - requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading a large scale change initiative
