The College of Arts is home to over 100 faculty in five academic units engaging in cutting edge teaching, research, and creative activity in fields such as Digital Humanities, Improvisation Studies, Creative Writing, as well as Studio Art, Languages, Literature, Art History, Music, Theatre, Scottish, Rural and European Studies, History, and Philosophy. The College is home to the Bachelor of Arts (BA) with majors that span the arts, social sciences, and humanities and the Bachelor of Arts and Science (BAS) with specializations within the arts, social sciences, and sciences.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Finance & Operations, the incumbent will provide academic management, staff supervision and human resources support for the College of Arts, and executive administrative support to the Dean and Associate Director.

Key duties and specific responsibilities include: managing the college tenure, promotion and faculty assessment processes; participating as a member of the Dean’s Council, providing support through organizing agendas, preparing meeting notes, and preparing follow-up correspondence; providing supervision and management of administrative staff members and assisting with hiring, training and performance management of staff positions; responsible for planning, organizing and implementing special projects for the Dean and the College; providing confidential, executive administrative support to the Dean and the Associate Director, Finance & Operations. The incumbent will also maintain the Dean’s calendar and identify matters of importance and will respond accordingly when the Dean is off campus and will assume overload from the Associate Director, Finance and Operations as required.

**Job Requirements**
- Three-year Community College diploma (undergraduate degree preferred) in Business Administration or a related field along with a minimum of 3 years related experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Human Resources (CHRP/CHRL) or Administration certification would be considered an asset.
- Experience working in university or college academic administration and additional education or training in human resources would be considered an asset.
- Familiarity and experience with employment policies, agreements, and compensation administration.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with coworkers and University stakeholders in an equitable and accessible manner to contribute to a culture of inclusion and respect.
- Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) and strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint)
- Excellent personal judgment, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability to multitask and prioritize duties while dealing with interruptions and competing deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills such as conflict management, ability to influence and ability to establish relationships
