We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to utilize their strong leadership and empowerment skills to bring positive change to the workplace.

The primary role of the Production Manager is to be responsible for all aspects of the manufacturing process ensuring safety, quality, cost, and meeting production goals, while leading continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency of process. While onsite and on-call.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Directly responsible for the day to day operations of production output, quality, and efficiency
- Monitor production efficiency by identifying areas for improvement and recommending changes necessary to increase efficiencies.
- Optimize and improve process work flows for efficient operations
- Lead long-term improvement initiatives and utilize expertise to find new opportunities to improve various aspects of performance.
- Monitor and adjust work force requirements by maximizing production opportunities with a high degree of labour utilization.
- Recognizes issues and focuses on corrective actions
- Utilize technical experience and collaborate with maintenance to troubleshoot and resolve production downtime events
- Provide direction, coaching and mentoring to Supervisors/TL’s
- Ensure teams are properly trained for their roles; drive cross training and continuous learning
- Provide development opportunities to improve knowledge and capabilities.
- Manage direct production resources in the plant, including recommendations for hiring, performance management and terminations.
- Develop, update and maintain budgets, including monitoring and managing costs associated with the Machining and Production process.
- Lead root cause analysis of production issues and incident analysis.
- Provide individual feedback through regular interactions and formal annual performance reviews.
- Motivate and engage employees; provide coaching to create a culture of empowerment.
- Provide strong leadership in health & safety and housekeeping initiatives.
- Responsible for accurate and timely reporting on KPI’s
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Required Qualifications and Competencies**
- Relevant College Diploma and/or equivalent work-related experience required.
- 8-10 years industrial manufacturing experience, 5 years of direct supervisory experience
- Lean Manufacturing training and experience would be an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills (RCCA)
- Ability to work under pressure; ability to multi-task and prioritize activities.
- Ability to manage changing production requirements.
- Demonstrated performance as a results-oriented leader.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and manage resources effectively.
- Conflict resolution and management skills
- Decision making ability, planning and time-management skills.
- Ability to use team building principles to constantly improve people and culture.
- Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills
- Strong computer proficiency and comfortable with MS Office suite
