**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

Product Line Management and Customer Service have been identified as two crucial roles that will drive the next phase of our company's growth. This role is involved in the development and implementation of specific Canadian product line strategic plans, including market and competitive analysis and identifying initiatives that drive profitable growth for Gates Canada. In addition, an effective and efficient Customer Service department is essential in meeting and exceeding customer expectations for those who do business with Gates. The Product Line / Customer Service Manager will work closely with the Gates US PLM team (including IR, IFF and AR markets) and adapt the created product roadmaps for the Canadian market, also interacting, when necessary, with corporate engineering. S/he will collaborate with Gates US on new product development projects and marketing programs to ensure the Canadian market achieves desired growth in sales and profitability. S/he will support the formulation of all short-term and long-term objectives and business plans for all Power Transmission and Fluid Power products including: meeting sales objectives, market share growth, product training for field and customers, price realization, VA/VE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering), quality, and delivery metrics. S/he will collaborate with the US Customer Experience Team to implement and launch appropriate tools for the Canadian market.

**Scope of Role**

Product Line Management / Customer Service Manager will report to Director of Marketing, Pricing, and Product Line Management, Canada.

This position will supervise eight personnel: (4) Product Line Management and (4) Customer Service representatives.
- Product Lines/Sales Support. Product Lines are supported for field sales and customers. Product lines are managed, maintained and expanded to support market share objectives and strategic plan.
- Solicits "voice of the customer' feedback for the organization through customer visits, industry association participation, and competitive research.
- Acts as a lead on new product development and product launch process. Collaborates with marketing lead on launch materials. Documents product specs, strategy, plans, training needs, and acts as an overall project manager.
- Develops and coordinates product training needs for the Gates sales teams as well as distributor inside and outside sales personnel
- Supports P&L for the product line through effective price change recommendations, managing customer orders and backlog to achieve financial and other operating metrics
- Involved in the quality control process, technical issues with Distributors and End Users.
- Supports the preparation of effective quotations, bids, and related negotiation documentation for the sales of products produced by the company.
- Supports and leads Customer Service personnel.

**Education and Experience**
- Post-Secondary Degree in Engineering or alternatively technical school graduate with minimum of five years of experience with Fluid Power or Power Transmission products.
- Previous managerial experience is preferred.
