**Position Summary**

As a construction-savvy individual, you will interpret drawings and generate high-quality, detailed estimates based on established standards. Your meticulous approach will be essential as you prepare accurate precast estimates for multiple infrastructure projects, demonstrating adeptness in both independent and collaborative environments. Your excellent communication skills, analytical mindset, and exceptional organization will be the driving force behind your success in this role.

- Responsible for quantity take-off, pricing of work and material, the closing of tenders, and preparing quotes
- Review specifications and drawings of open tenders
- Communicate effectively with third-party vendors and project team members to get the information required to complete accurate cost estimates
- Review designs and specifications for cost-effectiveness; provide recommendations for alternatives where applicable
- Review project plans and specifications and coordinate with team members to confirm the complete scope
- Work effectively in estimating take-off software, Excel spreadsheets, and construction estimating software
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures

**Requirements**:

- Valid Class 5 license and reliable transportation
- Minimum 40 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
- Available to work Monday - Friday, occasional Saturday
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Proficient in both verbal and written English communication
- Attentive to detail, organized, and able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Proficient with Microsoft Projects & Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box
- **Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta**

**Assets**
- Previous experience as an estimator or similar position
- Familiar with construction terms and processes
- An understanding of precast concrete
- An understanding of bridge construction
- Basic knowledge of Autodesk software (Revit, AutoCAD)
