Job Description

Arnett & Burgess Pipeliners is seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to support our Construction Manager and project management team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project controls and related services to support project execution, including engineering and design, construction, commissioning, and completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project controls support to the Construction Manager, functional leads, and project management team as required.
  • Liaise between project operations and corporate controls under minimal supervision and organize field processes to support project controls activities.
  • Gather information and submit project reports for internal review and distribution to stakeholders, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Ensure project performance metrics are established and tracked.
  • Attend and participate in project and stakeholder meetings, and document and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Project planning and scheduling, including coordinating schedule update reviews as required.
  • Track, manage, and analyze internal and external costs, including managing the company purchase order book.
  • Change management, including setup and support for processes and systems.
  • Commitment to continuously improving project control-related activities.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field of work.
  • PMP, CAPM, and/or CET certification will be considered an asset.
  • 5-10 years of project-related experience in the oil and gas, pipeline construction, or infrastructure industries.
  • Experience managing project controls and related activities.
  • Able to develop and manage spreadsheets, project schedules, and summary reports.
  • Aptitude for planning, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Experienced in estimating oil & gas and/or pipeline construction projects.
  • Able to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead teams.
  • Attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Advanced user of scheduling software such as MS Project and Primavera.
Work Conditions
  • This role is primarily based out of the company office, with the expectation that the candidate will work both in the office and on remote construction sites.
  • Leave of Absence will be provided when working on a field site.
  • Overtime as required.
