**The Opportunity**
Join **Hitachi Energy** as a **Global Environmental Specialist (Operations)** and play a pivotal role in our sustainability journey This is your chance to make a significant impact by developing and executing strategies that reduce environmental impact, minimize risk, and contribute to our sustainability goals. You’ll collaborate with our five business units to ensure the successful implementation of environmental programs and risk management across the organization. This dynamic and remote opportunity allows you to work from anywhere while driving transformative initiatives. **How You’ll Make an Impact**
- Support global environmental improvement projects, from planning to execution and evaluation.
- Provide operational guidance for pollution prevention measures, including waste, water, and hazardous substance impacts.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing the global HSE Operating System related to environmental controls and incidents.
- Drive global environmental risk assessment approaches and processes.
- Steer environmental data collection and trends analysis; monitor and report on environmental performance metrics and incidents.
- Assist in overseeing a global network of environmental colleagues and ambassadors.
- Manage various global requests related to environmental management, providing guidance and support.
- Lead the development of core operational environmental trainings.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines:
**Your Background**
- 10+ years of experience related to environmental sustainability, preferably with manufacturing and service exposure.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial/Process/Environmental Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including frameworks such as GRI and CSRD.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001.
- Professional certification in environmental management or sustainability strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a global corporate environment.
- Experience working in industrial manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success in reducing environmental impact in operations and executing programs.
- Proven project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
