**Specialist,**
**Emergency Management and Business Resilience**
**Program** position working out of Edmonton, AB.

As the Emergency Management and Business Resilience (EMBR) Program Specialist, you will be accountable for the EMBR program at EPCOR, in collaboration with business units and corporate services. This role requires a strong business acumen and the ability to accurately assess organizational risk so that you can create a risk based program. Role execution will largely be focused on governance with work being delivered through business stakeholders both in Canada and the United States.

This position may be eligible for EPCOR’s hybrid work program

What you’d be responsible for
- Supporting the business in the development of Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plans, including Mutual Aid agreements.
- Implementing, evaluating, maintaining and continually improving the EMBR program within the context of EPCOR’s mission, vision, values that will ensure effective and efficient corporate governance and support Business Unit execution in USA and Canada, across both regulated and non-regulated areas of the business.
- Responsible for leading the EMBR Steering Committee and Working Group.
- Influencing, guiding, coaching and enabling both up and down the organization and across all areas of the business in both Canada and the United States to ensure EMBR governance implementation and compliance.
- Working with business units across Canada and the United States to develop EMBR risk assessments.
- Analyzing and identifying opportunities to eliminate risk and champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance EMBR processes/programs.
- Ensuring businesses are aware of potential legislative changes, assessing compliance to regulatory requirements and monitor for industry best practices in relation to EMBR.

What’s required to be successful
- Post-secondary education in Health, Safety & Environment (Certificate, Diploma or Degree) or a University Degree in Engineering, Business or other related technical field.
- Experience and designations in Emergency Management, Audit and Risk, Project Management and/or Asset Management are required.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in a utility operations and/or occupational health & safety or emergency management.
- 5+ years progressive management experience leading diverse professional teams is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of applicable legislation.
- Customer relationship skills, demonstrated responsiveness, analytical thinking, problem solving, and planning skills are required.
- Capability to manage major incidents.
- Certification in ICS100 is required, ICS200 and 300 is an asset.
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills in advising and collaborating with diverse stakeholders is required.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations to employees, managers, and senior leadership.
