Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health to join our dynamic team. As an LPN, you will work under the supervision of registered nurses and psychiatrists to provide compassionate, person-centered care to patients with mental health conditions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the psychiatric facility, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assessing and documenting patient progress.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans based on the patient's mental health diagnosis and individualized needs.
- Support patients in their recovery journey by providing emotional support, teaching coping skills, and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Monitor patients for any signs of mental health deterioration and communicate changes in patient condition to the registered nurse or psychiatrist.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Administer injections and perform basic laboratory tests as ordered by the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-service education, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, as well as professional nursing standards.

Qualifications:

- Graduation from an approved practical nursing program.
- Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mental health setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, treatments, and interventions.
- Current Level 1 First Aid and CPR certification.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
