This opportunity is made possible through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, a federal grant that requires applicants to fulfill certain criteria, including being between the ages of 15 - 30 years.

We are looking for a talented Social media coordinator to help us create and maintain a strong online presence for our non-profit organization and our 2023 projects. You have at least two years of practical experience.

Our projects in 2023 include:

- Produce a series of monthly community concerts in Ocean Park Hall, working with BEC Entertainment
- Establish a new festival in South Surrey to support the Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club and the Little Campbell Hatchery
- Launch a new boutique Classical & Jazz Concert Series to take place in a variety of South Surrey and White Rock venues working with Maria’s Records.
- Hold monthly Music Lottery draws.
- Other opportunities at proposal stage: Canada Day, Uptown Live, community concert series in Victoria

This is a unique opportunity to work in the arts non-profit sector, contribute to the local music economy and learn marketing and promotion strategy for live music events and large celebrations.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will develop multiple calendars and posting schedules, contribute original content and suggest creative ways to grow awareness and engagement around our organization, event brands and fundraising projects. You will help develop a plan and campaigns to increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics to meet event and marketing goals. You will collaborate with management in planning stages and with production staff and volunteers on event days.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

- Researching audience preferences and discover current trends
- Develop our avatars/ideal customer profiles
- Create social media calendar and posting schedule for multiple events
- Creating engaging text, image and video content
- Designing posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and creating buzz and excitement around our events
- Facebook and Instagram ad targeting/testing based on persona’s/audiences (putting content together for ad sets and testing). Work with Management on campaigns, analysis and reporting.
- Help develop KPI reporting for Facebook and other channels so we can identify best audiences and retargeting
- Setup and manage TikTok accounts
- Other opportunities and tasks as they are presented.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Passionate about social media and experience using social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva considered an asset.
- Must be able to multitask and be highly organized with a ‘can do’ attitude Proven ability to listen, understand and communicate effectively
- Ability to take direction while also displaying strong personal initiative
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize; proven success multi-tasking
- Proven ability to think creatively and strategically; ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Available to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
- Interest in pursuing a career in the arts and entertainment field in BC and have an overall interest in learning about the Music Industry.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 18 weeks

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour
