**About Us**

**Summary**

The Operations and Strategic Projects Manager oversees the Capital Facilities, Maintenance, IT and Strategic projects of both our developing and operating businesses. Specifically, we are in the process of designing and constructing a new casino and entertainment facility in South Edmonton. You will be involved in all aspects of the business planning and opening. No previous casino or construction experience is required for this role.

Reporting to the President, the Operations and Strategic Project Manager is a key role with our leadership team. You will work closely with our President on a daily basis to learn all aspects of the business and successfully execute your role.

Key responsibilities include:
**Operations Management**:

- Oversee the effective operations of the business through hands on direction, coordination and leading the team to execute excellent customer service;
- Participate in formulation and administering company policies and standard operating procedures;
- Streamline operations for recently acquired business lines and day to day activities;
- Optimize profitability by analyzing results and implementing necessary changes to improve revenue while managing expenses;
- Proactively identifying issues and vigorously working to resolve them in a timely manner;
- Promote teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.

**Procurement**:

- Establish and maintain effective business relationships with vendors and local business merchants;
- Responsible for procurement quote solicitation, negotiation, evaluation and recommendation;
- Control and ownership over contract maintenance.
- Building Construction, Capital Asset and Facility Management:

- Assist with the design, tender, construction and equipping of the new casino facility;
- Aid in developing and executing short and long-range infrastructure and maintenance plans and programs to ensure long-term asset life, profitability and growth;
- Develop capital and facility budgets and ensure spending is in accordance with approved practices;
- Provide a monthly reports summarizing the status of all material aspects of the operations;
- Maintain policies and processes to ensure safeguarding of assets, including preventative maintenance.

**Special Projects**:

- Project management;
- Execute special projects as directed by the President.

**IT Environment**:

- Oversee third party IT contracto

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

**Qualifications and skills**
- A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business is preferred;
- Extensive experience with project management;
- Ability to actively manage deadlines and deliverables on multiple projects and project scopes;
- Procurement experience including pricing and term negotiation, contract review, quote solicitation, comparison;
- High degree of organizational and written and verbal communication skills;
- Chairing meetings to present updates on various aspects of the business and projects;
- High degree of detail and accuracy;
- Skilled in relationship building;
- Ability to motivate and maintain a viable work force;
- Experience reviewing, understanding, managing and discussing monthly financial results;
- Must be a team player and demonstrate appreciation and successes of the entire team;
- Previous hospitality experience is an asset but not required;
- IT experience and knowledge is an asset but not required;
- Knowledge of the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission Terms & Conditions and Operating Guidelines is an asset but not required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
