**Course title**:ENV 323H1- Ontario Environmental Policy**

**Course description**: Introduces students to public policy and institutional foundations of public policy in Canada, with an emphasis on environmental policy in Ontario. Provides an “insider’s” perspective on how environmental policy has been developed in Ontario.

**Prerequisite**: Completion of 8.0 credits including ENV221H1/ENV222H1. Students who do not meet the prerequisites are encouraged to contact the Undergraduate Associate Director.

**Estimated enrolment**: 70 students

**Estimated TA support**: 70 hours

**Class schedule**: Lectures, Thursday, 10 am - 12 pm.

**Sessional dates of appointment**: January 1, 2024 - April 30, 2024

**Salary**:Salary**:
***Sessional Lecturer I - $9457.90; Sessional Lecture 1 Long Term - $9930.79;
Sessional Lecturer II - $10121.77; Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10326.62;
Sessional Lecturer III - $10362.76; Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10570.02
- These salaries are inclusive of vacation pay. Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail._

**Minimum Qualifications**: Masters degree with equivalent professional and/or academic experience required. Understanding of the environmental policy-making process and the Ontario public service, with service as a policy analyst with the Ontario public service, or comparable government department, is required.

**Preferred Qualifications**: PhD degree, relevant academic or professional publications, and previous experience teaching a similar graduate or undergraduate course, are highly desirable.

**Description of Duties**: teaching the course; developing and revising course curriculum; delivering weekly lectures or arranging guest lecturers; arranging required readings; holding office hours; evaluating student performance, and supervising TA.
