We are currently looking for a HR Assistant to join our ever evolving HR Team

**Key Accountabilities/ Activities**:

- Assist with employee recruitment and employee relations
- Assist with advertising job openings.
- Assist in preparing paperwork required for new recruits and creating personnel files.
- Assist with employee orientation, development and training, logistics and recordkeeping.
- Support employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting; and employee services.
- Database Management
- Assists in the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures.
- Assists with the implementation and tracking of company safety and health programs.
- Assist company in compensation and benefits structure.
- Assist with market research and pay analysis to help establish pay practices and pay equity that help to recruit and retain employees.
- Assist employees with any benefit claim issues or concerns.
- Ensure law and policies requirements are met.
- Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
- Ensure all employment contracts and documents abide to the Canadian law and employment policies.
- Assist with organization’s development and training.
- Assist in scheduling participants for training and record training process.
- Enter and maintain training records in the database.
- Assist with feedback and comments collection regarding development and training session.
- Be an active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Assist with workplace inspections throughout the school.
- Liaise with maintenance and other departments to resolve health and safety concerns.
- Ensure that all human resources practices adhere to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
- Utilize the Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
- Support the maintenance of the Human Resources database system.
- Maintain employees’ contact information and company organization chart.
- Record personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Periodically audits the Human Resources database to ensure accuracy.
- To complete any additional duties assigned by the HR Coordinator and Operations Manager.

**Working Conditions**

Hours of work: Full-Time - Monday - Friday (08:30 am - 04:30 pm)

**Minimum Requirements**
- Human resources degree is required.
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
- Skill in data management and record keeping.
- Able to exhibit high level of confidentiality.
- Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, health and safety training, and preventive labor relations is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
