**Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre (VAERC) **welcomes exceptionally organized multi-taskers who are enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals as full-time, Experienced Veterinary Client Care Specialists. The role of the Client Care Specialist (CCS) is to strengthen the client, animal, veterinary bond through exceptional client service and education. Your role is vital to the success of our hospital If you are an experienced veterinary receptionist, excel at customer service, have a passion for client care, and a love for animals, we are excited to welcome you to our client care team We have built an incredible dream team of individuals who are committed to the highest standards of client care and customer service. We practice ethical and compassionate medicine and are seeking individuals who enjoy working within a cooperative team.
- 1-2+ years of experience as a receptionist in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong command of veterinary terminology, common veterinary medical conditions/emergencies, and veterinary “shorthand”
- Exceptional client service skills
- Empathetic, collaborative, and positive attitude
- Ability to work without direct supervision and to complete tasks/assignments independently
- Above-average time management skills
- Good understanding of the functions of practice management software and electronic medical records. (VCA uses proprietary practice management software and training is provided)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, Adobe)
- Accuracy in basic math skills. Previous knowledge of Moneris POS terminals/cash handling is an asset
- Basic knowledge of office electronics - multi-line phone systems, iPads, photocopiers, printers
- Strong attention to detail & accuracy when recording/relaying information
