The Field Serviceperson’s role is to assist with all aspects of maintaining a clean, safe and organized worksite; to inspect and liaise with the Field Superintendent and trades to ensure jobs are complete and identified errors are resolved; and to complete all work and finishing details (as per Inspection Checklists, if applicable) prior to all Occupancy Inspections.

The Field Serviceperson is an extension of the Field Superintendent reporting and addressing un-safe conditions, providing daily updates, evaluating needs and requesting supplies, and reporting potential production set-backs and problems. As an advocate of Reid’s Heritage Homes, the Field Serviceperson is considerate of exceptional customer service and practices continuous improvement, while following Health and Safety standards and all Reid’s Heritage Homes’ rules and regulations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Act as a back-up when Field Superintendent is off site
- Service work on house from framing stage to occupancy, including items on QA and PDI
- Inspect framing upon completion of framing (reference “Framing Inspection” check-list if applicable)
- Insure all “identified” deficiencies are addressed and completed prior to the “Second Inspection” and/or Insulation Inspection
- Repair all outstanding discrepancies before insulating and dry-walling
- Repair all minor drywall repairs prior to final painting and subsequent closing
- Ensure the house is ready for the “Walk-through/Occupancy” inspections, using the QA and PDI checklist, and leave the checklist in the house on the kitchen counter to accommodate the pending “Walk-through/Occupancy” inspections
- Complete outstanding PDI items prior to closing as per the PDI list and submit completed paperwork to the Field Superintendent prior to closing
- After closing, tend to outstanding PDI items within one week and as per Field Superintendents direction - the PDI form is to be completed, signed by Serviceperson and homeowner then forwarded to the Field Superintendent immediately following completion of service
- Continuing service work - when required, assist with 30 Day List items and other as instructed by the Director of Construction, Low Rise (the 30 Day List is to be completed, signed by Serviceperson and homeowner then forwarded to the New Home Warranty Care Manager, Low Rise immediately following completion of service)
- Install safety rails and ramps whenever and wherever needed
- Interior and exterior caulking as required
- Other duties as required by Field Superintendent
- Provide own hand tools, equipment, and vehicle to complete task
- Pre dry walling_
- Gas-proof garages
- Ensure phone and cable rough-ins are secured in the basement
- Seal all exterior penetrations
- Post dry walling_
- Secure stairs to walls with required screws and shims (to prevent movement)
- Make sure the “Trimmer” has installed ¼ round for all exterior doors and ceramic floors
- Ensure attic cover is built and has two (2) pieces of insulation glued to it backside

**Qualifications**

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a construction service related field
- Carpenter’s ticket or related paperwork, an asset
- Ability to work with drywall, framing, carpet re-work, minor electrical, minor plumbing, exterior work (brick, parging, etc.)
- Valid Class G driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to work with power tools and provide own tools
- Working at Heights certificate of training
- Safety conscientious
- Works well independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Professional at all times and a solid worker
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods of time, work from heights with fall arrest, lift heavy objects, and operate equipment and tools.

**Working Conditions**
- Standard hours of work: 44 hours per week

7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday (½ hour unpaid lunch)

7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday (½ hour unpaid lunch)
- Interior and exterior work during all seasons
- Works on construction sites in conditions that include dust, mud, heat and cold, inclement weather conditions and construction debris
- Safety equipment/apparel required:

- Hardhat
- CSA approved safety boots
- Eye protection

**Salary**: $30.00-$39.00 per hour
