Administrative Full-time New Position

Reporting directly to the Director, Seniors Care, the Training Specialist is accountable for the development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement across a range of education and research projects supporting seniors' care.

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to multi-year operational plan for educational and research projects
- Guide curriculum design, development, and delivery approaches to optimize professional learning, recognizing changing student needs and expectations, changing industry needs and opportunities with technology-enabled learning
- Plan and coordinate curriculum development projects to ensure completion of deliverables per stated timelines
- Ensure currency and quality of associated programs and courses (and course outlines) per review schedule to meet Conestoga’s requirements
- Contribute to the marketing strategy in the Canadian Institute including social media
- Support training deliveries of seniors-focused programming
- Bring forward trends, opportunities, and industry needs relevant to research areas
- Present opportunities for new service, applied research and innovation activities, and partnerships to the Director
- Carry out deliverables in the multi-year strategic plan for research in the Canadian Institute for Seniors Care
- Coordinate seniors-focused research projects including, tracking of deliverables, contribution to budgets, and reporting
- Develop, maintain, and deliver information materials (written and presentation) on Applied Research Projects and corporate partnerships to academic leaders, faculty, and researchers

Qualifications:

- Four-year BScN Degree or four-year Degree with a specialization in gerontology or a health-related field is required; post-graduate level education or a Master’s Degree focused in education, nursing, gerontology, or an allied health-related field is preferred
- Minimum five years of relevant experience in post-secondary education or in the health sector as a nurse or as an allied health professional
- Experience working in seniors-focused environments
- Experience working in a project-based role with a track record of supporting and managing projects
- Familiarity with curriculum development, research funding, and working with industry and/or institutional partnerships
- Experience in a post-secondary education institution, preferably a college, is an asset
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills with the ability to develop and maintain an effective network of research and project-related contacts
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects within deadlines
- Ability to think strategically to assess and mitigate risk as well as resolve complex problems with good judgment and diplomacy
