As a Translator with Sonovision Canada, you will join an energetic team of translation professionals, passionate about the work they do. As part of the translation team, you will be an essential contributing member by translating a variety of documents from English to French, reviewing the work of co-workers and working together to deliver documentation of the highest quality that customers of Sonovision have come to expect. **Typical Duties**
- Read through material in English, ascertain understanding of the meaning and context of that material, and translate it into French, making sure to preserve the original meaning
- Refer to online translation tools for additional assistance with translation
- Use highly specialised translation software to encourage efficiency and consistency
- Adhere to industry quality standards and ensure that all completed work meets customer requirements
- Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of the translation
- Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
- Follow up with internal team members to ensure the translation meets their needs
- Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g. font and structure)
- Able to work onsite in our Ottawa or Montreal office
- Other duties as assigned

**Required Skills & Experience**
- Must possess a university degree or college diploma in translation or working towards completing one
- Experience using computer-assisted translation software is a benefit, Trados is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Aptitude and interest to learn and develop

**Assets**
- Experience in the Aerospace or Defense Industry
- Accreditation with OTTIAQ or ATIO or another similar association

**Description de poste**

titre de traducteur pour Sonovision Canada, vous vous joindrez une quipe dynamique de traducteurs passionns de leur travail. Vous deviendrez un membre essentiel de l'quipe en traduisant divers types de documents de l'anglais au franais, en rvisant le travail de vos collgues et en travaillant en quipe afin de produire des documents de grande qualit qui rpondent aux attentes des clients de Sonovision. **Tches principales**
- Lire des documents en anglais, s'assurer de comprendre le sens du texte ainsi que le contexte, et traduire les documents en franais en s'assurant de conserver le sens du texte source
- Consulter des experts en la matire et des collgues afin de comprendre des concepts spcialiss et les traduire correctement
- Utiliser des outils de traduction en ligne pour de l'aide supplmentaire pour la traduction
- Utiliser un logiciel de traduction hautement spcialis pour favoriser l'efficience et l'uniformit
- Respecter les normes de qualit de l'industrie et s'assurer que le travail accompli rpond aux exigences du client
- Se reporter diffrents dictionnaires spcialiss et outils de traduction pour vrifier la qualit de la traduction
- Relire les textes traduits pour reprer toute erreur de grammaire, d'orthographe et de ponctuation
- Faire un suivi auprs des autres membres de l'quipe interne pour s'assurer que la traduction rpond leurs besoins
- Modifier le contenu dans le but de conserver le format du document original (p. ex., police et structure)
- tre dispos travailler sur place dans nos bureaux d'Ottawa ou de Montral
- Raliser les autres tches qui vous ont t assignes
