Shift Clean Solutions is looking for a Service Technician to Commission and Service Industrial Marine Energy Storage Systems.

Shift Service Technicians travel extensively and support our customers during the commissioning, and testing phases of their Marine Energy Storage projects. Our Service Technicians also access systems remotely and travel to support the battery systems’ general service and annual testing.

When Shift Service Technicians aren’t traveling, they support the Engineering and Project Management departments by managing technical data for the successful design, installation, and commissioning of new projects.

Our Service Technicians can work remotely - developing and assembling technical data. They also travel on short notice to remote locations when our customers require. This is a Service Role, and our primary focus is to maintain our current high level of consistent customer satisfaction. At Shift Energy Solutions, we place an exceptional level of importance on our customers. This position is only suited for those who fully share our values when regarding the priorities of our customers.

Site service work in marine environments is physically demanding and must be considered.

Location: Global
- The training and Engineering hub is in Vancouver British Columbia
- The position involves extensive international travel

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop, assemble, and manage project technical documentation
- Travel to support our manufacturing groups during Factory Acceptance Testing
- Travel to commission large and small-scale Energy Storage Systems
- Travel to service battery systems
- Remote diagnostics of Energy Storage Data
- Maintain safety and service project documentation
- Support Engineering and Project Management departments during the development and delivery of new systems
- Training Shift Partners, customers, and crew in safety, operation, and general service of their Energy Storage Systems

A typical week may see our Service Technician working at their home office or in the Vancouver office - finishing a Safety and Service Report for a recently completed site visit to Singapore or Canada or the US or The Netherlands.

A notification comes through from Shift Service Administrator with a request for a diagnostics investigation on a system in Canada and the customer needs to schedule an annual service visit while the vessel is undergoing unplanned maintenance in a different area of the ship. A JobSheet and plan will be prepared by Shift Service Coordinator and shared with the Technician and customer.

Our Service Technician will remotely look into the battery system logs for a quick scan of the operation and state of the batteries. She or he will then prepare to travel to the site to perform the annual service on the system. This may involve staying on site until the vessel is ready to perform controlled and steady discharge of the batteries for State of Health Testing. Once the work is complete, the Shift Technician will travel to another site or return home to complete and submit the Service Documentation.

No two weeks will be the same.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Customer-focused (This is a deal-breaker)
- Electrical or Mechanical Technology background (Certified Technologist or Technician is very helpful)
- Strong English is spoken and written skills
- Basic Linux command line experience is helpful
- Fluent in Microsoft administration tools
- Experience with Lithium battery systems and Battery management systems is preferred but not required (we train extensively in our lab in Vancouver)
- Ability and desire to travel extensively
- Ability to work remotely
- Exceptional time-management skills
- Self-Motivated and ambitious
