The Cranston Residents Association (Cranston RA), is a non-profit organization, which is professionally managed and maintained to ensure Cranston’s community features, amenities and the Century Hall facility will continue to be both esthetically pleasing and conveniently available for the long-term use of its residents. The Cranston RA also offers many sports, fitness, and recreation programs for all age groups, throughout the year.

The Recreation Program & Events Coordinator is a **full-time position, 40 hours per week**, responsible for providing innovative and creative recreation programming and events for the community of Cranston, Century Hall and its amenities.

**Hours**:Tuesday to Saturday;** with evening and weekend focused support for programs and events. **Tues-Thursday: 11-7:30pm or 12-8:30pm, Fridays 12:30-9pm, Saturdays 9-5:30pm**

**Reports to**: General Manager

**Responsibilities**:

- Research, develop, plan, implement and evaluate registered programs, as well as community events, in order to meet the needs of the Cranston community
- Continued on-going research/development/analysis of new programs, trends, events, seminars, etc.
- Facilitate and run youth drop-in programs and pop-up events; such as Friday Youth Night & Youth Centre
- Obtain feedback from participants of programs and events
- Ensure there is sufficient equipment in safe, working order for programs and events
- Purchase supplies and equipment as needed for programs and events, as approved by GM
- Recruit and manage volunteers for programs and events
- Work within the programs and events budgets, providing expected incomes and expenses monthly
- Locate qualified/certified instructors for all programs
- Write, edit, and produce the calendar/brochure of programs and activities for distribution to the residents
- Respond to on-call inquiries in an appropriate and efficient manner
- Role model for and compliant with CRA’s Health & Safety Program
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Administration, or a related program
- 2-3 years experience in overseeing, implementing and facilitating social, cultural, recreational programming and/or large-scale events
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience. Performance management and staff training/facilitation
- Experience in creating and facilitating child and youth programs, with working knowledge and understanding of recreation programs; including day camp experience
- Outstanding customer service, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with thoroughness and careful attention to detail
- Good oral and written communication
- Excellent team player with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Must be a reliable self-starter, able to make decisions and function with minimum supervision
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR Certificate
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
