Actuarial Analyst, Strategic Initiatives
**What is the opportunity?**
The successful incumbent will support the key strategic initiatives for multiple RBC Insurance product lines.
**What will you do?**
- You will support the transformation project for the Actuarial Portfolio team. Train the actuarial staff to be IFRS 17 ready, support full retro and parallel run and explain the results, and identify enhancement opportunities in the IFRS17 reporting process
- You will also support ongoing reporting (monthly/quarterly/annual) and portfolio analysis for multiple product lines (Par/Segregated Funds/Travel), identify and interpret emerging trend 'for valuation and actionable items for the business to facilitate sustainable profitability.
- You will be support various actuarial projects as they arise
**What do you need to succeed?**
**Must-Haves**
- Bachelor’s degree (or above) majoring in Actuarial Science. Other relevant Majors (e.g. Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics) are acceptable if accompanied with demonstrated knowledge of Actuarial concepts
- Minimum 2 to 3 exams completed
- Actuarial/insurance experience with demonstrated knowledge of professional standards of practice, the legislative environment and industry best-practices. Working experience with GGY AXIS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be an innovative thinker and understand the "big picture"
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audience
**Nice-to-Haves**:
- Working experience with R, Tableau, and SAS
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 requirements
