Reporting to the Senior Manager, Post Acute Care & Community Partnerships. the Clinical Manager is responsible for the overall clinical and business operations of the Complex Care Program and Medical Rehabilitation Program. This includes planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating quality, risk and operational efficiency. The Clinical Manager collaborates with internal stakeholders including Clinical and Nurse, Department and Program Managers, Senior, Clinical and Department Directors, Professional Practice Leaders/Advisors, Medical Director, Physicians, other interprofessional healthcare team members, and external partners. The Clinical Manager ensures that the nursing and clerical staff within the program function within their professional scope of practice as defined by their regulatory body and professional association and perform at an optimal level to meet program and corporate strategic plans.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's Degree in a related health discipline required
- Master’s Degree in a related health discipline would be an asset
- Member in good standing with the Regulated Health Professional College and Provincial Professional Association required
- 3 to 5 years of practical and related experience and/or 1+ year on the job training will be required
- Experience in an academic health science centre
- Progressive leadership or management experience in a healthcare organization
- Demonstrated continued education in Leadership, Budgeting, Performance Management, Labour Relations, Coaching, Team Building, Research Skills, Teaching Skills

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Articulates the performance expectations of all direct reports
- Determines the staffing requirements, including nursing skill mix and manages the recruitment, selection, retention and termination of all staff within the approved budget guidelines
- Allocates use of available staffing resources
- Collaborates with other Clinical Managers to identify staffing requirements and performance expectations for health professional staff (non direct reports)
- Develops and implements appropriate orientation programs for new staff
- Establishes employees’ goals and objectives and identifies staff development and training requirements
- Develops, mentors and coaches' staff to maximize potential
- Fosters and ensures effective employee and labour relations through knowledgeable interpretation and implementation of hospital policies and collective agreements
- Ensures effective strategies in managing staff retention and development, human rights and employment equity
- Analyzes and documents Human Resources challenges and develops solutions to address these challenges
- Supports staff and provides guidance in problem solving, conflict management and decision making by ensuring administrative policies and procedures are followed.
- Acts as a coach, mentor and role model to team members and provides leadership to all staff by providing an environment where shared governance, empowerment and respect for diversity can grow
- Analyzes appropriate internal and external data and information to identify opportunities in collaboration with stakeholders for improving services and patient outcomes in accordance with MOHLTC, Rehabilitative Care Alliance and Accreditation Canada standards
