COOKSMART is growing We are looking for individuals that enjoy teaching children and are passionate about promoting healthy eating to join our team in Mississauga, Oakville and Toronto.

COOKSMART offers healthy cooking programs run by professional instructors across the GTA. Through in-school workshops, afterschool programs and camp programs, we provide hands-on nutrition & cooking instruction for elementary, middle and secondary school students. We offer flexible working hours and the ability to grow your geographic location of preference that is best suited to needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Teach a fun, hands-on cooking program designed to engage children in cooking basics and healthy nutritional choices
- Manage classes of children, ages 6-15 in a professional and fun environment
- Assist with the lesson planning and organization of classes, workshops and camps
- Facilitate after-school programs, camps and workshops
- Ensure that safety procedures, as well as, safe handling of food are adhered to at all times
- Prepare and organize any necessary program instruments and/or equipment
- Participate in local marketing fairs in order to promote COOKSMART
- Interact with students in an inclusive, collaborative and respectful way that would foster a positive experience for the children

**Requirements**:

- Experience in teaching or working with children in a group setting
- Education and/or experience in the field of nutrition will be considered an asset
- Passion for healthy eating and the desire to educate others in this area
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of safe food handling techniques and procedures would be an asset
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Enthusiastic and outgoing personality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- First aid training (in particular for food allergies) preferred
- Access to vehicle
- Must be able to pass vulnerable sector check
- Must be reliable

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Oakville, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
