**How You’ll Add Value**:
As part of our Finance accounting organization, this role is responsible for end - to - end payroll processing for all employees. This role manages a diverse team comprised of payroll specialists and payroll analysis, and is also responsible for continued improvement of processes, and effective integration of activities with HR, Finance and other stakeholders, and for ensuring a high level of service to employees and managers.

This position will be responsible for the bi-weekly payroll functions in Canada.

**Process**:

- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Audit and Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understand proper tax treatment and processing requirements for wages and employer paid benefits
- Ensure the proper garnishment calculations and compliance
- Provide and document any necessary approvals prior to processing any off-cycle payments
- Ensures the processing of accurate and timely year-end reporting (T-4, RL1 etc.)
- Work with accounting team to calculate and update any accruals for non-standard payments
- Update and reconcile statements from UKG PRO
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
- Monitors changes and remains current on legal, regulatory or governmental requirements (e.g., wage and hour, garnishments, tax matters, Pension and other benefit deductions)
- Oversees the preparation of required reports or payments to government agencies, pension provider, or other organizations.
- Oversees the payroll processing activities for the Canadian payroll department, which includes work allocation, problem resolution and training

***Continuous Improvement and Projects**
- Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency improvements to improve productivity
- Implement New Payroll Software system if required
- Be a key stakeholder on HR Systems and Time Management integrations and Benefits projects including scope, design and development of SAP including interfaces to payroll systems

**About You**:

- Minimum of 10 years’ experience calculating and processing in-house payroll
- Prior supervisor experience preferred
- Prior experience with HR/Payroll ERP, time and general ledger systems required
- Minimum of 5 year of payroll tax preparation experience strongly preferred
- Base knowledge of applicable Federal and Provincial HR/Payroll Laws and CRA regulations that impact payroll
- Must have excellent knowledge a pension legislation across Canada.
- Excellent processing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated, independent, cooperative, flexible, creative, and responsible
- Must be detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Ability and experience working as a member of a team
- Must possess excellent organizational skills and be extremely flexible to meet customer demands, in addition to being able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a changing environment with a high degree of accuracy
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, and willingness to experiment and work with new technologies
