Though this is not a front-line position, all workers at NISA are “peers”. The notion of a “peer” is that of someone who has personally engaged in mental health recovery or supported a family member though mental health recovery and uses their lived experience to inform their support of other peers. **REPORTS TO**:Executive Director

HOURS AND REMUNERATION: 35 to 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri weekday with some evenings and weekends. Renumeration, $20/hr with benefits.

**Executive Assistant**

NISA is a peer-led organization tasked with providing mental health recovery services in Sudbury, Ontario. All staff self-identify as having had some lived experience of mental health challenges and are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of their peers. We’ve been operating in Sudbury since 1998 with the motto _Being, Belonging, Becoming_. In our programs, peers can **be** who they are without judgement or discrimination; they take part in a community of peers in a space where they **belong**; and our aim is to foster recovery and personal growth so that individuals can define and **become** who they want to be. We acknowledge the value and expertise that comes from personal lived experiences, and stive to provide a space free of discrimination, stigma, and exclusion in all forms.

Our Leadership Team focuses on supporting NISA’s core values and culture, as well as accountability, dedication to ensuring quality services, providing supportive supervision, and advocating for peer voices in the mental health sector. Specifically, supportive supervision is based on mutual respect, strength-based, commitment to ongoing learning, self-awareness, integrity, effective communication, trusting relationships/transparency, autonomy with accountability, and personal growth.

The Executive Assistant and Communication Officer is responsible for supporting the Executive Director and Board of Directors while also developing and managing internal and external communications to enhance the visibility and impact of our organization.

**Responsibilities**
- **Executive Assistant Responsibilities**:_

**Calendar Management**:Efficiently manage the schedules of the Executive Director and Board members, coordinating meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.

**Administrative Support**:Provide comprehensive administrative support, including drafting correspondence, preparing reports, and maintaining organized filing systems**.**

**Meeting Coordination**:Facilitate and coordinate board meetings, ensuring timely distribution of materials, recording minutes, and tracking action items.

**Communication Liaison**:Serve as a liaison between the Executive Director, Board, and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- **Communications Officer Responsibilities**:_

**Internal Communications**:Develop and implement strategies to enhance internal communication, fostering a sense of community among staff, volunteers, and members.

**External Communications**:Manage the organization's external communications, including press releases, newsletters, and social media content, to raise awareness and promote the organization's mission.

**Media Relations**:Cultivate relationships with media outlets, respond to media inquiries, and coordinate interviews to amplify the organization's message.

**Content Creation**:Create engaging and impactful content for various platforms, including the organization's website, social media channels, and newsletters.

**Event Coordination**:Support the planning and execution of events, conferences, and other activities to promote the organization and engage the community.
