**Maintenance Engineer - Sarnia, ON**

TENG Inc. is a fast growing, medium-size engineering consultant company providing engineering and project management services to multiple industry sectors. Our client has an immediate opening for a full time Maintenance Engineer. _**The position will be based at the site in Sarnia, ON - travel will be required occasionally to other sites.**_ The Maintenance Engineer role will report to the Manager of Reliability Engineering along with TENG Program Manager. Day to day direction on priorities will come from the maintenance team and Senior Reliability Engineer at company site.

Qualifications:

- Mechanical Engineer and/or EIT (relevant engineering degree would be considered)
- 5-7 years' experience in Oil & Gas Industry
- Experience with Distribution and Terminal sites an asset

**Requirements**:

- The Maintenance Engineer is located in close proximity to the field to allow the best possible support to the operations and maintenance department.
- They respond to asset failures and operational needs by providing field support and timely repair scopes to effectively return assets to service
- They specialize in the shorter-term challenge of maintaining assets operational capability and are less involved than their Reliability Engineer counterparts with proactive improvements and long-term strategies.
- Lead the appropriate prioritized small scope change to improve safety, environment and production risks
- Assess equipment condition, or health, to determine its capability for continued operation or duty
- Designs and develops equipment repair methods and procedures, initiates analysis of failures and provides technical troubleshooting, and communicates these concepts in detailed technical reports
- Determines cost advantages of repair alternatives and develops action plans that comply with demands for timely repair of processes/equipment.
- Act as first point of contact with maintenance for any activities that requires engineering analysis and approval
- Safety, including process safety is foundational to all engineering
- Engage other business units, business partners, internal and external expertise to leverage knowledge and lessons learned for your business unit and function.

Additional Duties:

- Attend the daily maintenance meeting to understand priorities for the day and identify work to walk down with the crews.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders: Operation supervisors, Maintenance coordinator, Planner, Schedulers, SCM, Engineering, Maintenance crew, Field staff, Team members
- Understand SAP functionality for work request, notifications, work order, maintenance history, PM program
- Review SAP notifications for upcoming work and completed work to ensure close-out includes all proper info needed (e.g., attached documentation, QA validation, repair packages complete, etc.)
- Provide technical recommendations and field guidance to the operators, craft millwrights and contractors supporting troubleshooting, repairs and optimization of static and rotating assets at Terminals.
- Develop scope of work for maintenance work orders including repair requirements, a scope with technical details, a marked-up ISO or drawing and quality assurance requirements (e.g., request and review ITP’s, define hold points).
- Periodically complete QC duties to get to know the vendors servicing our equipment and understand their strong points or areas for improvement.
- Expect queries / clarifications to sought technical deviations or engineering approvals related to the materials specifications, QA requirements and scope of work issued by Reliability or maintenance engineering and provide resolutions / answers in a timely fashion.
- Provide feedback and observations on equipment issues and bad actors to the Reliability Engineer so they can analyze and track the history of that equipment to look for trends.
- Support the development of fit-for-purpose maintenance repair procedures, checklists and audit processes as required.
