A Few Good Lads is the leading provider for on demand labour in Canada. Simply put, we supply workers to construction companies (big & small) across British Columbia and Ontario. With constant expansion and an increased demand within the industry, we are always looking for new employees to come on board.
**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide proper training on the safe use of hand tools and power equipment.
- Show your team the ropes from foundation to framing, and everything in between.
- Assist other trades on-site as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
- May prepare cost estimates for clients.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Carpenter in construction.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads of up to 90lbs).
- Red seal is desirable.
- Strong customer service and front-facing skills.
- Knowledge in all aspects of framwork Carpentry.
- A good gut for heights, managing a crew and working on busy, high pressure job sites.
- Aptitude in math.
