**About the role**

Want to be a **home/property claims adjuster** but don’t have your claims adjuster licence? No problem, we’ll train you

**If you want to be a home/property adjuster, you must have experience in the following areas: building inspection, appraisal, restoration and construction.**

Location: Montreal (2020 boul. Robert-Bourassa), Anjou (7101 rue Jean-Talon Est), Quebec City (5700 boul. des Galeries) or Saint-Hyacinthe (2450 rue Girouard Ouest).

Work schedule: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday (35 hours/week)

**What you’ll do here**:

- Gather insureds’ or witnesses’ versions of events by interviewing them about what happened.
- Determine whether the claim is covered by performing a coverage analysis.
- Analyze the information obtained, make decisions to determine liability and review damage assessments.
- Settle claims in a fair and equitable manner, confirm damage amounts and make payments.
- If necessary, open new claims files over the phone with customers and ensure the situation is handled immediately.

**What you bring to the table**:

- Motivation to work in the claims field.
- Experience relevant to the position (knowledge of building mechanics).
- Strong time-management skills.
- Ability to work with computer systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingualism (French-English), as you will be answering calls and providing services to English-speaking customers on a regular basis.

**What we’re looking for**:
To obtain your claims adjuster license, you must have the following:

- ** College diploma or higher level of education OR three years of **_transferable_** full-time experience AND a high school diploma / vocational diploma (minimum 60 credits) / high school equivalency certificate / attestation of Secondary V equivalency.**:

- Excellent customer service skills that enable you to reassure and support customers with empathy throughout the claims process.
- Strong analytical skills, which enable you to use judgment and logic in assessing your claims files.
- The ability to comfortably navigate different computer systems.
- The ability to adapt to change in a constantly evolving environment.
- The ability to interact with both French-speaking and English-speaking customers on a daily basis. Need to process claims files from English-speaking clients on a regular basis.

**Training**:

- Your full-time, paid training will give you hands-on experience in the insurance field and with the Intact culture.
- You will be paid, mentored and supported during your exam preparation to obtain your claims adjuster license.
