Ambulatory Nursing Manager

Functions as the primary clinical administrative leader and has oversight of multiple clinic locations. Assists with supporting the financial, administrative and operational management of multiple clinics. Translates the objectives, plans and procedures into effective actions to ensure quality patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
2. Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in West Virginia or in state of practice is required.
3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
4. West Virginia state criminal background check required, and Federal, if applicable, for DHHR BMS regulated area
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three years of experience in a health care setting.
2. Two years of healthcare management/supervisory experience required.

1. Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care in accordance with the policy and procedures, philosophy and mission.
2. Develops, implements, and supports strategies for the delivery of quality patient care based on the requirements of the medical service while achieving positive patient relations in a teaching environment.
3. Ensures staff provides quality, effective care consistent with relevant policies, procedures and access and service standards.
4. Works closely with staff and peers to identify opportunities to improve patient care.
5. Coordinates activities between the clinical services within the medical practice and WVU Healthcare to ensure quality patient care.
6. Facilitates the development of departmental policies and procedures and ensures compliance. Promotes customer satisfaction in a professional, constructive manner.
7. Ensures medical practice is in compliance with applicable regulations, i.e., CLIA, OSHA, Medicare, etc.
8. Responsible for the coordination, organization and delegation of operational aspects of the medical practice to ensure effective, efficient delivery of services. In conjunction with Administrator and Director, Ambulatory Nursing and in accordance with mission and goals, determines the service needs in terms of patient and staff requirements.
9. Assures that staff provides patient focused care.
10. Resolves patient care issues as identified. Reviews outcomes and evaluates operational systems to ensure ongoing improvement.
11. Creates a work environment that promotes continuous quality improvement, team building and ongoing personal development.
12. Collaborates with medical staff and other personnel in promoting and planning optimal patient care. Collaborates regularly with physicians and ancillary service providers to review practices, services and resolve issues.
13. Selects, hires, manages and evaluates the effectiveness of employees on a continuous basis.
14. Promotes teamwork, contributing to positive employee morale.
15. Performs performance evaluations that provide objective, constructive feedback regarding strengths and opportunities for improvement.
16. Coaches and counsels to correct identified performance deficiencies. Establishes goals, and provides follow up within established Human Resources policies.
17. Ensures compliance with policies and ensures staff meets the established access and service standards.
18. Devises communication system to keep all personnel informed operations.
19. Fosters a competent staff through the provision of orientation, in-services, continuing education programs and professional development.
20. Demonstrates and promotes a high regard for the dignity, respect and safety of all patients, family members, visitors and personnel. Maintains the confidentiality of patients, family members and the health care team.
21. Promotes and contributes positively to organizational relationships.
22. Serves as a liaison by establishing and maintaining open lines of communication.
23. Assists the Administrator with the operational budget for clinical personnel, materials and services.
24. Assures cost effective staffing patterns, schedules and appropriately utilizes staff. Reviews trends with Administrator and Director, Ambulatory Nursing.
25. Monitors utilization of equipment and supplies and prioritizes budget requests to ensure safe patient care and optimal utilization of resources.
26. Approves and maintains payroll documents. Analyzes trends to develop long range plans for budget needs.
27. Participates in committees and completes additional projects as assigned.
