**Position Description**:
:
Business Analyst (BA) will utilize strong technical knowledge and critical thinking abilities to provide information, analysis and business insights to program leads and management across multiple levels of the organization and external partners.
- Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Decision Support, the BA will be a trusted organizational resource having the opportunity to:
- Support internal stakeholders across the hospital by providing information, analysis and critical thought to drive decisions and tackle complex business questions.
- Support the implementation of data management solutions in alignment with departmental and organizational priorities by designing and developing high impact strategic scorecards, dashboards and other visualizations
- Develop analytical and reporting tools collaborating with clinical, finance, and digital solutions/IT teams.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:
**Decision Support**
- Acts as a primary level resource in the area of health information at both a macro-organizational level and case level analysis.
- Investigates and validates internal and external performance indicators, scorecards and reports to determine the degree to which corrective action is required and work with stakeholders to improve and monitor performance.
- Interpret, recommend and present new meaningful information for clients and stakeholders gained from disparate data sources to support and influence key strategic and operational decisions
- Provide ad hoc consultation and promote awareness regarding clinical and financial data and its impact on funding and performance measurement.

**Business Analysis**
- Ability to work with various interconnected systems, processes and data flows in order to support initiatives that require planning and strategic analysis.
- Collaborates with clinical, business, technology and external partners to ensure reporting and analysis are aligned to organizational strategic objectives also meeting the analytics mandate of Corporate Decision Support.

**Reporting & Analysis**
- Supports the design, development and implementation of strategic scorecards, dashboards, forecasting tools, reports and performance measures using expert technical/programming knowledge and experience
- Create and maintain indicator library and data dictionary ensuring standardization of measures and standard operating procedures
- Act as a data steward providing education regarding health system data sources, emerging MOHLTC initiatives, requirements and methodologies, including data interpretation.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University degree in health sciences or computer science with experience in data analytics/programming language.
- 3+ years' experience in decision support or performance measurement and reporting (IM/IT) in a hospital/healthcare environment.
- Experience in business solutions implementation, administration and integration.
- Technology certification in Microsoft Data Solutions or business intelligence (preferred).
- Experience in programming languages like SQL, MS Visual Studio Suite.
- Experience in documenting, analyzing and transforming business processes.
- Expertise with enterprise database systems, data integration, business intelligence systems and data warehousing using Microsoft Data Solutions stack.
- Experience working in a data warehousing environment (ETL, DW data models).
- Experience modeling data for analytics.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other BI solutions is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data visualization design, developing reports in alignment with business needs.
- Knowledge of MOHLTC policies and funding, MIS/OHFS Standards, CIHI requirements and reporting.
- Experience working with clinical/business partners at all levels to discuss business requirements.
- Data interpretation, critical thinking, task planning and organizational skills, presentations skills.
- Must be able to easily adapt and work in a collaborative team environment.
