Position Available: Communications Intern

Position Status: Summer Student, Non-union (5 days per week for 14 weeks - May to August 2023)
Location: 5310 Explorer Drive, Mississauga ON

Reporting To: Director, Communications and Public Affairs

Position Summary:
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Increase public awareness and understanding of Ornge, its mission, expertise and people, by assisting in the production of content for Ornge’s digital channels and social media, including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook;
- Pitch, research, and write stories for Ornge’s website as well as internal and external publications;
- Use a variety of multimedia storytelling tools, including videography, photography, and infographics;
- Monitor media coverage and social media, and generate analytics;
- Assist with the publication of internal and external newsletters;
- Assist with public, community and stakeholder events; and
- Support other communications projects or other assignments as required.

**Education**

**Qualifications**
- Positive self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn and interact with Ornge staff, stakeholders and past patients across the province;
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills;
- Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite;
- Basic knowledge of video filming and editing; and
- Experience with healthcare or government/public sector organizations is an asset.
