Government Communications and Public Engagement (GCPE) is a dynamic, progressive and innovative organization that supports external communication of government in its ongoing dialogue with British Columbians. GCPE leads and coordinates government communications through its three divisions: Strategic Communications, Communications Operations and Corporate Priorities.

The Strategic Communications division provides a variety of specialized communications support services to all ministries, as required, including writing and editorial services, advertising and marketing services, graphic design, social media and digital services.

Working in a team environment, the Executive Administrative Assistant is accountable for providing efficient, confidential support to the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) and actively supporting the broader Division objectives. The position is responsible for a variety of executive administrative support services to the Assistant Deputy Minister and leadership team which includes the timely and efficient flow of information between the Division and Deputy Ministers and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of the ministry.

**Job Requirements**:

- Secondary graduation or GED equivalent; **PLUS** a Post-Secondary Certificate in Office Administration; **OR**
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience in an administrative role in a confidential capacity.
- A minimum of 6 months of work experience managing executive calendars and meeting requests.
- Experience with systems, operational processes and administrative procedures such as scheduling meetings, travel arrangements, correspondence and records tracking systems.
- Experience drafting, formatting and proofreading a variety of documents, including correspondence, memos, detailed reports and meeting agendas.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in one or more of the following:

- A minimum of 6 months of experience providing administrative support to senior management in a confidential capacity.
- Experience using document tracking systems.
- Experience with government FOI processes.
- Experience with the use and management of a SharePoint Site.

**About this Position**:
There is currently a temporary opportunity available for one year. This temporary opportunity may be extended and/or become permanent.
