**The Head of Marketing & Public Affairs plays a pivotal role in developing and executing comprehensive marketing and public affairs strategies that align with our business objectives, supports revenue generation, and ensures effective communication with key stakeholders. This role is responsible for leadership and innovative thinking that is crucial to guiding our marketing & public affairs team towards achieving our organizational goals.**

**WORK HOURS**: Office hours (weekend and evenings as needed)
**LOCATION**: Vancouver, Richmond, or Victoria BC and as per the work-from-home policy
**TERM**: Full Time Regular
**DEPARTMENT**: Commercial

**Responsibilities and Expectations**

**MARKETING**
- Develop, communicate, and implement an overall marketing strategy in alignment with Harbour Air’s goals and objectives.
- Develop customer segmentation strategies and action plans that support the Sales & Distribution and Network & Revenue Management teams in achieving joint revenue targets.
- Utilize market research and data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Lead the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels to increase brand awareness, engagement, and customer acquisition.
- Manage the budget, allocating resources effectively and continuously assess budget allocation to optimize spending based on business priorities and campaign performance.
- Drive efforts to differentiate the brand in the market and position it as a transportation leader within the industry.
- Conceptualize and develop creative marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences, leveraging various channels such as digital, social media, traditional media, events, and more.

**PUBLIC AFFAIRS**
- Develop, communicate, and implement an overall public affairs strategy in alignment with Harbour Air’s goals and objectives.
- Proactively manage the organization’s reputation by identifying potential issues and developing strategies to address them.
- Monitor public sentiment and media coverage to gauge the effectiveness of communication efforts and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials to promote organizational activities and achievements.
- Handling media inquiries and providing timely responses on a variety of topics.
- Be an active member of the Emergency Preparedness and Incident Command Centre teams
- Develop and disseminate clear and consistent messaging across various channels, including social media, press releases, speeches, and official statements.
- Oversee the creation of internal and external communication materials such as newsletters, reports, and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Build and maintain relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies, and relevant stakeholders.

**MARKETING & PUBLIC AFFAIRS**
- Lead, motivate, and manage the marketing & Public Affairs team, providing clear goals, objectives, training, coaching, and guidance to ensure high performance, productivity and achievement of revenue goals. Set individual and team targets, monitor progress, and provide regular performance feedback to team members.

**Qualifications/Assets**

**IDEAL EXPERIENCE**
- Proven experience (8+ years) in marketing leadership roles, preferably in the airline or a related industry.
- Strong track record of developing and executing successful customer segmentation and marketing strategies that drive revenue growth.
- Proven experience in public affairs, government relations and media relations.

**EDUCATION**
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business or related fields; Master’s Degree is a plus
