Parts Purchasing Buyer

Patterson Dental is looking for a determined and resourceful person to complete our parts department's dynamic team. Working under their supervisor, the Parts Buyer will execute the following tasks:

- Analyze the purchase report daily and prepare part orders according to this report.
- Log all purchases into the computer system (AS400).
- Print all purchase orders, check them, and transfer them to various manufacturers.
- Sort purchase orders according to the established system.
- Update pricing within the system, as well as any other necessary information.
- Add new suppliers and products to the system.
- Contact manufacturers to obtain various information:

- Inquire about prices and part availability,
- Billing issues to solve,
- Code changes,
- Delivery delays,
- Follow up on missing parts and errors on received orders, etc.
- Solve all issues related to reception of parts, unidentified purchase orders, etc.
- Inform staff of all discontinued parts or any other changes.
- Update parts catalogue.
- Look for new available suppliers in order to update the optimal suppliers list, in accordance with company objectives.
- Ensure phone support and take orders for parts.
- Occasionally meet with the manufacturer’s representatives in order to learn about their new products.

**Job qualifications**:

- Diploma of College Studies (DCS) or higher, and any relevant experience.
- 5 years or more of experience as a buyer.
- Comfortable with speaking on the phone and strong interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with AS400 and SAP is an asset.
- Familiarity with the dental industry is an asset.
- Ability to work with others while remaining sensitive, tactful, diplomatic, and professional, at all times.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Patterson Dentaire est à la recherche d’une personne déterminée et débrouillarde afin de compléter son équipe dynamique du service des pièces. Sous la responsabilité du superviseur, le titulaire du poste exécutera les tâches suivantes:

- Analyser quotidiennement le rapport d’achats et préparer les commandes de pièces à partir de ce rapport.
- Enregistrer tous les achats au système informatique (AS400).
- Imprimer les bons d’achat, les vérifier et les faire parvenir aux différents manufacturiers.
- Classer les bons de commande selon l’ordre établi.
- Mettre à jour les prix au système et toutes les autres informations nécessaires.
- Ajouter les nouveaux fournisseurs et produits au système.
- Contacter les manufacturiers pour obtenir diverses informations:

- S’informer des prix et de la disponibilité des pièces,
- Régler les problèmes de facturation,
- Changement de codes,
- Délais de livraison,
- Suivi des pièces manquantes et des erreurs dans les commandes reçues, etc.
- Régler tous problèmes de réception des pièces ou de bons de commande non identifiés, etc.
- Aviser le personnel des pièces discontinuées ou de tout autre changement.
- Mettre à jour le catalogue de pièces.
- Effectuer des recherches de nouveaux fournisseurs disponibles afin de mettre à jour la liste de nos fournisseurs optimaux, le tout en fonction des objectifs établis par l'entreprise.
- Assurer le soutien téléphonique et la prise de commandes de pièces.
- Rencontrer à l’occasion les représentants manufacturiers afin de connaître leurs nouveaux produits.

**Formation et compétences**:

- Diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) ou plus et toute autre expérience pertinente.
- 5 ans et plus d’expérience en tant qu’acheteur.
- Aisance au téléphone et grandes compétences interpersonnelles.
- Connaissance des systèmes AS400 et SAP, un atout.
- Connaissance de l’industrie dentaire, un atout.
- Capacité à travailler avec les autres en faisant preuve de sensibilité, de tact, de diplomatie et de professionnalisme, en tout temps.
- Fortes aptitudes en matière de service à la clientèle.
- Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office.
- **_ Excellente maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit._
